Detailed description

Hunter Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Meriden, Connecticut.

Hunter Golf Club was established in 1929. The golf course opened for play 1n 1933. The golf course was designed by Robert D. Pryde. Alfred H. Tull redesigned the Hunter Golf Club golf course in 1968, followed by Al Zikorus in 1988.

The golf course at Hunter Golf Club is hilly. The back nine is tighter than the front nine. The greens are small, with a little elevation, and have medium speed. There is a creek that runs through the course and one pond comes into play on two holes. The signature hole is #10, a 587-yard, par 5.

The Hunter Golf Club offers an excellent test of golf, with great views of surrounding trap rock ridges and Castle Craig in Meriden's Hubbard Park, which can be seen while playing the fifth hole. The course played has in the past hosted the CT Women's State Amateur, as well as the Senior New England Public Links Championship.

Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 6573 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5570 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 10, a par-5 that plays to 587 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 6, a par-3 that plays to 162 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 5, a 525 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 17, a 185 yard par-3.

You must have a tee time in order to play the golf course at Hunter Golf Club on the weekends. A lottery is held every Wednesday for weekend play.
