Detailed description

Nevada Country Club is a Private, 9 hole golf course located in Nevada, Missouri.

Nevada Country Club first opened for play in 1922 when local business men leased the property and established a nine hole course with sand greens. The property was owned by Osage Indian Chief, Harry Kohpay. Chief Kohpay eventually sold his property to Sam Carter in 1927. At that time the golf association was known as the Radio Springs Golf Club.

In the early spring of 1949, Ewing and Dr. Orville Dodge purchased the 90 acre golf course from the Carter family with the understanding that after the formation of the country club corporation, the property would be conveyed to the corporation. In late 1949, the Nevada Country Club was incorporated.

Part of The Nevada Country Club Golf Course is located on the flat lands and part of it is located in hills. There are a few sand bunkers in play, and the elevated greens are mostly flat. There are additional tees that can be used when playing an a double loop eighteen hole round.

Par for the course is 35 for men and 36 for ladies. From the back tees the course plays to 2,974 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 2,592 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 507 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 6 a par-3 that plays to 155 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for #4, a 373 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 6, the 155 yard par-3.
